As they try their hand at a variety of styles and media, who knows? Maybe they’ll become the next Chagall, Pollock, or Van Gogh! |

African Art and Culture
| A visual art camp where students learn about Africa’s rich culture stems from ceremonial traditions, wisdom-filled proverbs, and colorful folklores that have been passed down for generations. Explore African story-telling, tribal art, religious artifacts, and crafted items from ancient times. Using symbols and simple imagery, the student will recreate ancient rock-art, Asafo flags, and mud cloths that tell a story. Examine Zulu beadwork and discover their secret messages, create African masks, and make decorative walking sticks. Carve a Tibetan Prayer Box or a Tikar House God. |

Bamboo Kimono and Sumi
| A visual art camp where students explore the unique art forms of Japan, China, and Indonesia. Travel the continent and try their hand at many of the arts while learning about the culture of the countries. Use sumi brushes on rice paper and make oriental scrolls with bamboo stick holders. Indonesian textile design, stylized koi fish sculptures, and the unusual design of the kimono will spark their creativity. |

| A personal finance camp where students choose a career path, receive a salary, and create a monthly budget for themselves. They learn how to research and make decisions about home, car, and utility purchases and make sure they live within their budget. Maybe they’ll want to buy a pet or a new iPod. Their technology project will showcase how their career and budget can make that possible. |

Candy Chemistry
| A chemistry camp where students explore the world of candy making through the eyes of a scientist by mixing, testing, and measuring confections from the soft ball stage to the hard crack stage. Their delicious scientific “experiments” will result in fudge, popcorn balls, taffy, and lollipops. |
